Jason Clark, Georgetown’s leading scorer, was saddled with more responsibility than usual Tuesday night. His running mate at guard, Markel Starks, came down with a stomach ailment and was too weak to play. Clark had to deal with the pressure of DePaul’s defense with his ball handling and was also able to locate his shot.

Louisville F Kuric out vs. DePaul (AP)

Louisville’s leading scorer Kyle Kuric will not play in Saturday’s game against DePaul after sustaining a high left ankle sprain in practice, coach Rick Pitino said Friday. The senior forward was hurt early in Thursday’s practice when he apparently stepped on a teammate’s foot. Pitino said he’s not sure how long Kuric might be out.

Pitt blows late lead, stunned by DePaul (AP)

Brandon Young scored 26 points, including a three-point play with 1.3 seconds left, as DePaul beat Pittsburgh 84-81 Thursday night. Young scored the game’s last seven points for the Blue Demons (10-4, 1-1 Big East) after Pitt (11-5, 0-3) held an 81-77 lead with 17.2 seconds remaining. Young’s layup cut the Panthers’ lead to two points; then Pitt’s Isaiah Epps missed two free throws.

No. 1 Syracuse now 15-0, pounds DePaul (AP)

Like an orange swarm, No. 1 Syracuse seemed to be everywhere Sunday. Coach Jim Boeheim’s long-armed and deep team used its lockdown defense and balanced scoring to rout DePaul 87-68 for a 15-0 start. With 7-foot Fab Melo altering numerous shots and blocking six others, the Orange took control in the first half, built a 19-point lead and then coasted.
