The messages were flying in the Kansas locker room at halftime. Elijah Johnson told his team to stop second-guessing itself. Tyshawn Taylor reminded the Jayhawks that they’d been in trouble before. Coach Bill Self finally stood up and told his team that it would take sheer toughness to rally past Purdue.

Four years after hitting rock bottom, Indiana is making noise again in the NCAA tournament. Will Sheehey made a 15-footer from the baseline with 12.7 seconds left after a shot was blocked right to him, and the fourth-seeded Hoosiers rallied to beat 12th-seeded VCU 63-61 in the third round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday.

Harvard rallies to avenge lone Ivy loss (AP)

Kyle Casey scored 20 points as Harvard rallied from a 10-point deficit and then outlasted Princeton 67-64 Friday night, avenging its only Ivy League loss of the season and setting a program record for wins in a season. The Crimson (24-3, 10-1), who fell to the Tigers 70-62 on Feb. 11, led by six in the first half before Princeton surged to a 33-23 lead at the 3:59 mark.

Kyle Kuric scored 17 points to lead five Louisville players in double figures and No. 24 Louisville rallied past slumping West Virginia 77-74 on Saturday. Louisville (20-5, 8-4 Big East) scored 13 of the game’s final 16 points to extend its winning streak to six games. Russ Smith had 16 points off the bench for the Cardinals.

Cody Zeller scored 18 points and No. 11 Indiana rallied for a 73-54 victory over Penn State on Sunday, hours after the Nittany Lions learned of the death of former football coach Joe Paterno. The team was told of Paterno’s death on the short bus ride from the hotel to Assembly Hall. Team officials scrambled to get black strips attached to the players’ blue road jerseys.
