Until Wednesday night, Nebraska’s students didn’t have much to celebrate when it came to their basketball team. So they let it all hang out after the Cornhuskers upset No. 11 Indiana 70-69, the Hoosiers’ third straight loss and Nebraska’s biggest victory in its first season in the Big Ten.

The Orange, one of three unbeatens entering play Monday, received 60 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel. Syracuse 18-0 for second straight season (AP)

Dion Waiters scored 20 points in his home city and No. 1 Syracuse remained undefeated with a 79-66 win over Villanova on Wednesday night. James Southerland added 15 points for the balanced Orange, who are 18-0 for the second straight season. The Orange (5-0 Big East) used a 20-2 run to dominate the struggling Wildcats.

Syracuse, one of three unbeaten teams in Division I, is on top of The Associated Press’ college basketball poll for the fifth straight week. The Orange received 60 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel. Kentucky, which got the other No. 1 votes, North Carolina and Baylor remained second through fourth.
